Reinforcing Policy/Procedure Actions & Behaviors

Policies, procedures, and work instructions are typically directions for staff on how to implement or carry out regulations and client or company requirements. Many of these documents have one or more actions or behaviors specified. It is as important to reinforce the the actions and behaviors called for in these documents as it is to reinforce laws and regulations.

To do so, create topic categories and areas (sub-categories) that help organize the new continuous training questions in a manner that best assigns them to the appropriate groups. Remember that you are not limited to creating just one copy of a question. If it makes sense to organize similar questions in multiple categories for ease of assignment to groups that may not have the need for the exact same set of questions, you can do so.

A topic consists of the question/statement used to validate knowledge, the possible answers, and the underlying knowledge to be reinforced which supports the correct answer. The question/statement answer options can be True/False, Yes/No, Multiple Choice, or Multiple Answer. You can randomize the presentation position of answers or have them remain fixed. When creating a new topic, it is suggested that you limit it to the reinforcement of one action or behavior. In that way, you limit the amount of time the user spends in KNOWLEDGESOURCE.

Information in a topic is not limited to just text. Images, media files, and links can be used as well.
